The dessert ruined it all 可一不可再...

Not that good at describing or commenting food as compared to Angie, but I guess it won't hurt to share my experience with food anyway.  My boyfriend, J5, and I are food consumers.  We have good appetites, we like food, but the way we judge food are basically how 'good' they taste, how 'fresh' they seem, is the quality worthy of the price, and whether we'd come back...

My seafood Fusilli

Last Saturday we decided to visit Jordan for some shopping (Jusco Living Plaza FYI), hence we went to this United Cafe Restaurant (openrice), which we have passed by but never been to.  It's named after the concept of Unity of Christian, as I believe this cafe is co-owned by Catholic(s) and Protestant(s).  This is located opposite to one of our favourite restaurants for dates, Marco's (openrice) - may talk about that in the future.

Ice Mocha (House coffee in the background)

XD

I'm not good at memorising the names for dishes, nor did I jot down their individual price, hence I'm just gonna run through the dishes we had with brief notes.  J5 ordered a set with a grilled baby chicken, and I got a seafood fusilli in tomato sauce.

- soup with set: just okay.

- appetizer with set: decent, as pictured above, you can see it came with smoked salmon, spanish jamon, and salad.

- grilled baby chicken: J5 was a big fan of the side-dish, mashed sweet potato (purple colour).  The chicken itself was tiny and very tender, nicely seasoned and grilled.

- seafood fusilli:  okay.  doesn't taste different enough.

- creme brulee:  RUBBISH!  it was neither cold NOR warm, the burnt sugar on top was wet and so un-fresh.  The egg beneath was heavily sweetened.  ((I don't care if it was supposed to be cheesecake or creme brulee, it shouldn't taste so bad!?!?))

- ice mocha:  love.  I am a fan of fresh whipped cream with ice coffee.  The coffee itself was lovely and I can see they put effort in the blend.

- house coffee:  J5's coffee intake is under my control, due to health reasons.  He is a big coffee-addict and he has tried a lot of coffees.  the 'united' house blend is accpetable in his opinion.

Cream <3

Actually, I would not recommend this cafe for dinner.  Their coffee is nice.  I like the concept behind the name (Unity of Christian), but I feel like being robbed after spending nearly USD40 for such a mediocre meal.
