2011聖誕節-飲食篇。 2011 Christmas- all those food!

我認為聖誕節是飲飲食食玩玩樂樂玩玩買買的。(對不起J,我並不是一個虔誠的人。)
I think Christmas is all about eating, drinking, shopping, well- having fun. (I am not a religious person sorry J)


剛過去的聖誕節總共吃了八餐有聖誕節名目的飯(!)由於基本上都是吃氣氛為主,所以拍下來的照片並不多,記起的也可能不多,請見諒。
To celebrate the last christmas, I had eaten 8 lunches/dinners in the name of Christmas. And as of every single Christmas dinners, the atmosphere is the most essential thing, and who cares about the food anyway? Apologise for the lack of photos but hey, it's party time who will remember to take pictures when everyone is fighting for food?




一:十二十六日,公司的聖誕晚餐。
1) 16/12/2011: Company's Christmas dinner


地點:中環某私人會所。
Location: A private member's club in Central


簡述:第二次跟公司的團隊到這裡過節(上一次是中秋),菜式就是廣東菜。大部份的菜式都十分之好,最有水準的可算是魚:兩次吃的都十分嫩滑,啖啖肉,再懶的人都會吃。炒飯都超級好吃,又乾身又入味。可是這次因皮膚的關係沒有吃到好像很好吃的釀蟹蓋…
照片從缺。要體諒我跟上司們吃飯拿相機出來是很白癡的。
Description: This is the second time we have dined in this member's club which serves cantonese food. Well as its clientele are mostly the rich and professional, their food is delicious, and I think their star dishes are those featuring fish. Fried rice is food too and I heart their stuffed crab! but due to skin problem I couldn't have it this time. There is NO photos as it would be absolutely idiotic to take my camera out when eating with my bosses.






二:十二月二十一號,跟朋友們的交換禮物暨聖誕歡聚大餐。
2) 21/12/2012, Christmas dinner and Present exchange with my dear friends.


地點:尖沙嘴海港城的Al Molo。
Location: Al Molo, Harbour City, TST


簡述:由於人數眾多及都是吃貨的關係,今年的聖誕大餐是經過精心挑選的。Al Molo當選的原因是...它有位;滄海遺珠有Press Room, Goccia,  Wooloomooloo Prime及Linguini Funi。
Al Molo嘛,食物聽說是不錯的,就是跟據網上風評它們的服務態度就有待商確,怎知當晚竟然就真的發生了一段小插曲。話說是F小姐幫大家訂的,這位小朋友還認真地詢問過我們這麼多人可否從A la carte點菜而不吃set menu,畢竟臨近聖誕要限定人多的吃set也是無可厚非的;餐廳的答覆就是『當然可以』,那我們就安心的等待這一天的來臨。怎知當日下午F來電告訴我餐廳突然告知由於我們多於10人用餐,我們必需要吃五百塊一位的晚餐。我XYZ&(*&(*&$(*&@!當時是下午2:30而我們訂了7:30pm的晚餐,你不會在晚餐前5小時才告訴我們嘛....離譜得很!我就告訴F再致電給他們裡論,因為我們是問了這個才訂位的嘛。我已經準備了如果F失敗的話就是我潑婦鬧街的時候了,幸好F很厲害的搞定了一切。那我們就高高興興的期待這晚(或交換禮物)的來臨。
Description: Due to the large number of attendees and to make it worse, each and everyone of them foodies, this year's christmas dinner was chosen out of several other choices. And reason why Al Molo was chosen....purely because it was still available. Other choices include Press Room, Goccia, Wooloomooloo Prime and Linguini Funi.
I have heard that the food at Al Molo is pretty good but their service is hmmm. Well we indeed experienced a little incident the day we dined there. Originally it was F who reserved the table for us and she made sure that with that many people, we could order from the a la carte instead of the dull set menu. However on that afternoon F gave me a call and said that Al Molo just called her and said as we had more than 10 people, we HAD to have the set dinner ($500 pp). WELL I was totally thinking WTF since it was already 2:30pm and we were meant to have dinner at 7:30pm, how on earth could you call your customer 5 hours ahead of the dinner and change to rule completely? What if we do not accept this deal and our dinner would be spoiled because of this? So I asked F to give them a call and tell them we made sure we did not have to take the set menu at the time of booking, and I told her if they did not accept I would give them a call and start arguing like a mad woman. But F sorted it all out (such a little brave girl) so all that left was to enjoy our dinner (and the present exchange part)

都說了這些場合都不是以吃為主,但是晚的菜色都出乎意料之外的出色耶!
As I said these occasions are not focused on the food and surprisingly the food was pretty good.


前菜
  • Risotto -acquarello risotto, wild mushrooms, parmigiano 
    • 這個好像蠻不錯 
    • This was pretty nice
    • Osso Buco-   braised veal shank, bone marrow,  saffron risotto, sautéed spinach
      • 這個好吃!那個番紅花risotto很惹味!
      • I love this, especially the saffron risotto
    • Mista di Campo- seasonal field greens, market vegetables, balsamic vinaigrette
      • 沙拉一碟,總要吃菜的
      • Well, we have to have some veggie right?
    • Fior di Zucca- squash flower fritters, buffalo mozzarella, anchovy, fresh tomato passata
      • 嗯,這個我叫的但我是連它來過也不知道…
      • I ordered this but I didn't even know it made its appearance...
    • Polipo- grilled Mediterranean octopus, fregola sarda,  spicy salame, black olive vinaigrette
      • 八爪魚,還不錯。
    主菜
    • Pizza Quattro Stagioni: anchovies / prosciutto / artichokes / funghi
      • 又是一碟我全沒印象的菜。
      • Another dish I could not remember.
    • Pizza Funghi: wild mushrooms / gorgonzol
    • Pizza Capricciosa: cooked prosciutto / mushrooms / artichokes / taggia olive
      • 我最愛的比薩。
      • My FAVOURITE pizza.
    • Truffle Risotto
      • 我呢,是不喜歡Truffle的。皆因我認為它是汽油味(對!我就是妹仔肚!),但這個我很喜歡,喜歡得第一碟還沒有清掉已叫了第二碟呢!
      • I, strangely, do not like truffle, as I believe it tastes like gasoline (I do not have a tastebud for expensive food). But I liked this so much we ordered a second plate before finishing the first
    • 好像還有另外三個pasta...但我沒記憶了
    • I think we ordered another 3 pasta dishes and I could not remember.
    甜點
    • Tiramisu- Italian mascarpone mousse, espresso soaked lady fingers, salsa ciocolata
                                            
    • Crostata- warm Granny Smith apple pizza, almond cream, rosemary gelato 

    • Tartaletta- milk chocolate and caramelized banana tart, roasted banana gelato
      • 這個最好吃,那球gelato好吃得不得了。


    都說我志不在吃,所以這是篇不負責任食評。有時間我會在《二三事》寫寫那晚的戲肉,只能說交換禮物是可看出一個人的人性!!!!!






    三:十二月二十三日,公司友好的午餐。
    3) 23/12/2011, Christmas lunch with colleagues.


    地點:Greyhound Cafe
    Location Greyhound Cafe


    簡述:so-so。這間餐廳我在曼谷吃過,出埠後價錢貴了也蠻多,質素嘛,還好。份量是很少很少,所以我覺得是適合兩三知己而已。最好不要跟不熟的一起去,因為禮貌上的你推我讓只會令大家吃得很少。所以C/P值並不高。
    Description: So-so. I have first tried this restaurant in Bangkok, and it has certainly increase its price as it goes oversea, but the quality of the food has not. This is a place that is best for a small group of close friends as the portion is tiny. Each would only have a bite if it is shared among a big group of people.

    The best item of the meal: lemon tea




    我們點了:
    • Complicated Noodles
      • 一塊粉(請想像越南春卷的皮沒包之前的模樣)、一塊生菜、一小匙肉碎(這個很不錯)及一小匙青辣醬。這個好吃,因為夠辣。
      • A piece of noodle, a slice of cabbage, a small spoonful of minced meat and a tiny spoonful of green spice sauce. This was good, maybe because it was spicy.

    • Soft-shelled crab salad
      • 沒啥特別,但又是只有小小的蟹囉。
      • Nothing special, just a small crab.
    • Spicy Spaghetti Thai Style
      • Er...真的就是泰式炒意粉。
      • Well it really was only spaghetti in Thai style
    • Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings
      • 馳名的單骨雞翅。就一貫的好味道。
      • Its famous chicken wings and it is still good
    • Pita Pizza with Italian Sausage
    • Pad Thai
      • 只能說在九龍城隨便找一家都比它做得好。
      • Any restaurant in Kowloon city can cook a better pad thai than this.




    四:十二月二十四日,家中的聖誕聚會。
    4) 24/12/2011, Family Christmas Gathering

    地點:私人地方。
    Location: Private venue.

    簡述:竟然給我叫Spaghetti House的到會!!!!!!!!那我可真的沒有話說。
    Description: They ordered party set from Spaghetti House.......what more can I say?







    五:十二月二十四日,跟林生的聖誕晚餐。
    5) 24/12/2011, Christmas Dinner with Mr. Lam

    地點:Press Room
    Location: Press Room

    簡述:今年我一如既往都是走平實路線的。而我亦不想是我訂位的關係,就逼了林生去擔任找餐廳的重要任務。但是!作為一個吃貨女朋友,我真的很怕他會太遲訂位抑或是走銀彈路線,所以我還是給了他數個餐廳作選擇。怎知道這位先生就看也不看這些餐廳的資料就從第一個開始打去訂位!!!(他後來解釋說他以為我是照Priority來排…)還要給他打第一個就有位子還不用吃所謂的聖誕大餐!!所以就去了Press Room囉。(我是沒所謂的,大家走多一步才可融洽相處嘛。)


    Description: As usual I try to go a non-pricy style for our christmas dinner. Furthermore as I did not want to be the one who was going to make the reservation, I forced Mr.Lam to take the responsibility in finding the restaurant. HOWEVER, as a foodie girlfriend I was quite worried that he would book a table too late or go for the pricy restaurants. So I gave him a list of restaurants to pick. BUT, this man just called the first restaurant on the list without even looking at the restaurants' information!! (He later explained that he thought I listed them out of priority) Even more ridiculous was that the first one he called was still available and no christmas set menu was required!!!!!!! So we ended up at Press Room.



    一走進餐廳就覺得很像London的Wrights Bar耶!暗暗的燈光及木製的椅桌,挺浪漫的小餐館。食物就很好,服務也貼心。當然嘛,跟誰吃東西也是一個很重要的因素,嘻。


    The restaurant has a flair similar to that of Wrights Bar in London, with the dim lights and wooden table, it certainly is a romantic restaurants. Food was great, service was great. But of course, who you are dining with matters too! 
    • Plateaux de Fruits de Mer  (without Lobster) for two
      • 我們都認為這是在香港找到C/P值最高的海鮮總匯了。跟歐洲的當然是兩碼子的事,但它家這個就都OK!Cherry Clam是這晚的最愛。
      • We both thought this is the most valuable seafood platter we could find in HK so far. Yup, we still miss those lovely seafood platters in Europe but this is okay too. Cherry Clam was the highlight of the night

    • Shellfish Bisque
      • 我錯,吃完這個就半飽了。但我就是超級喜愛喝湯。這個偏咸,不是太建議。
      • I ordered this but my bad, I was half-full after finishing this. I love soup but this one was a bit too salty.
    • Lobster Risotto
      • 可以令林生放棄叫有龍蝦的海鮮總匯的只有另外一碟龍蝦的菜。這個也不錯,但個人較喜歡龍蝦跟意粉的配撘。
      • The reason why Mr.Lam had agreed to order a seafood platter without lobster was because I agreed to order another lobster dish. This was nice but I personally prefer the combination of lobster and spaghetti more.

    • Winter Spiced Bread & Butter Pudding
      • 出乎意料之外的好吃!我當時已經是十分之飽了,但這個完全是欲罷不能的最佳代言人呀!不太甜不太膩,剛好的香料份量,整個起讚!半個吃貨的林生也大讚這道甜點呢。
      • This was SURPRISINGLY GOOD!!!!!!! I was 100% full by the time this was sent and this was so good we finished this in one go. It wasn't overly sweet and not too rich. Well, if the non-dessert crazy Mr. Lam thought it was very good then it must be very good.




    六:十二月二十五日,跟爸媽的聖誕午餐。
    6) 25/12/2011, Christmas dinner with my lovely parents

    地點:Nobu at Intercontinental Hong Kong
    Location: Nobu at Intercontinental Hong Kong

    簡述:我是覺得還是要跟爸媽好好的吃一頓好的。原本是想吃鹿悅的,畢竟也有一段時間沒去了,但Menu不太吸引。自助餐我又不想吃,其他的又有一點開天殺價的嫌疑,差不多寧願打消聖誕日用餐這個念頭,但Intercon還是我的最愛呢。大部份餐廳都沒有變得很貴(我接受當Demand is high, you can charge a high price, but just not too much),那就選了Nobu或是Steak House。竟然我從我另外一個朋友口中聽到這陣子的Steak House沒有從前般好,所以就選了Nobu。當天吃的是Nobu Festive Set Lunch,總共五道菜,價位也不是太高,菜色都很吸引。因為每一道菜都可選其中一些,我就只列出我們所吃的吧。


    Description: I think it is important to enjoy a good meal with my parents during Christmas time. Originally I wanted to go to Kaetsu at Grand Hyatt as we havn't been in a longgg time, yet the menu wasn't appealing. I do not want to have buffets and other restaurants are all overly-expensive. But all restaurants at Intercontinental did not mark up their prices too much, so I decided to go to Nobu or Steak House for Christmas lunch in Intercon. However I have heard from one of my friends that Steak House had not been very good recently so I chose Nobu in the end. We took the Nobu Festive Set Lunch, which was a 5-course lunch that wasn't very expensive. As we had to choose from a list of food for every course, I would just list out those we ate.

    頭盤:小碟小碟的,每人可選四款,我們就所有都有叫。我最喜歡的是Toro with Jalapeno Dressing,完全表現出Nobu在醬汁方面的出色。
    Appetizers: they all come in cute little dishes and each can choose four, so the three of us ordered every dishes on the menu. My favourite was the Toro with Jalapeno Dressing as it fully reflects the best of Nobu- sauces
    • Beef Kushiyaki    牛肉串燒  
    • Crispy Rice with Tuna  脆米伴免治金槍魚
    • Kanpachi Sashimi with Matsuhisa Dressing  章紅魚刺身配洋蔥醬油汁
    • Salmon Tartar  三文魚刺身韃靼
    • Toro with Jalapeño Dressing  金槍魚腩配青辣椒汁
    • Unagi and Foie Gras with Sansho Teriyaki  烤河鰻伴煎鵝肝配日式山椒照燒汁
    • Botan Ebi & Uni Sashimi “New Style”   牡丹蝦及海膽新派刺身  
    • King Crab Taco  帝皇蟹伴粟米脆片
                                                 




    拉:四選一。
    Salad: one out of four.
    • Sashimi Salad with Matsuhisa Dressing  霜降燒金槍魚刺身沙律配洋蔥醬油
    • Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp  菠菜沙律伴乾麵豉扒蝦
      • 我叫了才記得我是不應該吃蝦的…但那些菠菜是超新鮮的。我很怕菠菜的苦味,但當天吃的是一點草青味都沒有。
      • My choice and I forgot I could not eat shrimp...those spinach was so fresh and they did not have those 'grassy' feel which I hate
    • King Crab and Scallop Jalapeño Dressing  帝皇蟹腳及帶子配青辣椒汁

    主菜:六選一。
    Main Course: one out of six.
    • Beef Toban   牛肉陶板燒
      • 全餐最好吃的是這個了。我不是很常吃牛肉但這個嫩得很離譜。
      • Best dish of the day. I do not eat beef too much but this was uber tender!

    • Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce  蝦天婦羅配香辣忌廉
      • 那個汁很好吃,又是汁了。
      • The sauce was soooooooo good.

    • Black Cod Saikyo Yaki      鱈魚西京燒 
      • 我的,好吃但不是太特別。沒辨法,牛肉太好吃,甚麼都給比下去。
      • Mine, nice but nothing special. Purely because the excellent beef toban.

    飯或麵:三選一。
    Rice or Noodle: one out of three.
    • Hot / Cold Soba with Kakuni & poached egg   冷 / 熱喬麥麵伴豚角煮及溫泉蛋
      • 要了熱的,好吃喇但喬麥麵不是我的菜。蛋就好嫩耶!
      • We ordered the hot soba which was nice but I never really liked soba.
    • Bara Chirashi  細切刺身丼
      • 我爸說這個超好吃。
      • My dad said this was super yummy

    • Sushi Assortment  雜錦壽司
      • 沒啥特別 nothing special

    甜品:八選一。
    • Banana Tofu   香蕉布甸及焦糖雪糕
      • 好味。特喜歡那個焦糖雪糕。
      • Delicious, especially liked the caramel icecream

    • Chocolate Bento Box   朱古力便當盒
      • 有誰能告訴我那個巧克力蛋糕應該是流心的嗎?它沒流耶!
      • Was the chocolate cake meant to be a molten one?

    • Soy Panna Cotta  大豆奶酪
      • 這個是侍應的推介,聽地頭蟲就是沒錯:超級美味。它是豆乳味的奶酪,上面襯有Tamarind味的雪芭,紅莓及菊花瓣。奶酪的質感不是水水的,但又不會過於結實。加上酸酸的雪芭,簡直就是完美。我敢說這個是我2011年在香港吃過最好吃的甜品!
      • This was a recommendation from the waiter and it was right to listen to him. SUPER GOOD. Self-explanatory as it name, it was a panna cotta made from soy with a tamarind sorbet on top, added with raspberry and chrysanthemum The panna cotta was not watery but not too firm, and together with the sour sorbet it was just perfect! I dare to say this was the best dessert I have tired in HK in 2011. 

    很美好的一餐,還是我付錢的,不禁覺得自己是個孝順的好女兒哈哈哈。

    七:十二月二十五日,姨姨家的火鍋。
    7) 25/12/2011, hotpot at Aunt's place.

    地點:姨姨家中。
    Location: Aunt's place

    簡述:就是簡簡單單的家庭溫暖火鍋。我是比較喜歡在家吃火鍋,較自在嘛。可以隨意加醬,中場休息,還要買任何食材都可以!扯遠了,當晚較特別的是舅舅從內地帶回來的大魚。可是我怕腥就沒有多吃,但看我媽吃的津津有味就知應該不差。
    Description: Just a simple warm hotpot meal at home. I prefer to have hotpot at home as I can do whatever I want and eat whatever I want. The highlight of the night was the huge fish brought by my uncle from China. I didn't eat much as I thought it was a bit too fishy but it must be good since my mummy ate quite a bit.



    八:十二月二十六日,跟舅舅一家的晚餐。
    8) 26/12/2011, Christmas dinner with my uncle's family

    地點:Sheraton, The Cafe
    Location: Sheaton, The Cafe

    簡述:原本是到沙田Hyatt的,但因為是室外及沒有生蠔的關係就改地方了。臨急臨忙就只找到Sheraton有位置。我一直都覺得這家酒店是尖沙咀區內被遺忘的五星級酒店。唔,就是當每一家酒店都持續地有餐廳被食客追捧時,它就還是默默地在一旁。它還是有好的餐廳,像Morton's都還是城中有名的扒房,雲海也還是可以的。說回當晚吧。生蠔也還可以,就是一定要加檸檬才可入口…畢竟是自助餐貨色。其他嘛,熟食挺好,特別是咖喱,還有!他們有Yorkshire Pudding!天知道我有多想念這道傳統英國菜。甜品就是大堆頭貨色,好看不好吃。但總括來說就是比想像中好吃啦!


    Description: Originally we were going to Hyatt in Shatin, but after we found out that it was a outdoor venue and there was no oyster (my cousin's request) we changed venue, and all we could find was Sheraton. I have been thinking that Sheraton is a 5-stars hotel that has been forgotten by the public. its like when every other hotels have some restaurants that are frequently being boasted by foodies, it quietly stands on Salisbury Road..well it still has nice restaurants such as Morton's which is still one of the best steak house in town. Back to the buffet, the oysters were okay but only edible with lemon juice. Hot dishes were good especially their curry. But the surprise was that they had Yorkshire Pudding. Gosh how much I miss this traditional English dish! Dessert looked better than it tasted. Overall it was better than I thought. 



    我竟然終於打完這篇聖誕文,雖然遲了些少(好啦我知春節都過了),嘻嘻。
    Here I am, finally finishing this post, though it is delayed (okay, even Chinese new year has passed...)
